Description

The College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State is seeking a Financial Coordinator to provide support and service for assigned academic units and faculty and to advise on policy and procedures. The successful candidate will assist staff in supported units with inquiries and manage and resolve issues. Review and approve Employee Reimbursement System (ERS) reports, IBIS expense documents, Purchase Order’s(PO’s), Workday documents, and resolve issues. Perform pay and effort functions for assigned units and faculty; prepare and submit payroll transfers as required; prepare, monitor, and approve attendance records. Audit and approve financial transactions, ensuring compliance on all college levels. Develop and prepare special reports as requested. Provide customer service, advise faculty and staff regarding spending account balances, and ensure compliance with policy and procedure. The candidate will serve as the primary financial liaison and centralized resource for assigned units and faculty and provide direction to financial assistants. Review/Post Scholarships, REU Payments and other awards to student accounts. The candidate will manage the financial operations of assigned units/accounts, and interpret, advise and disseminate financial policies and procedures to the department; assure transactions and procedures follow University guidelines and recommend improvements to procedures. Process IBIS approval path changes/updates; perform budget maintenance, monitor divisional/grant/departmental budgets to ensure adequate funds; train and provide input into evaluation of assigned staff; assist in preparation of budgets and reports, assist in implementing accounting and office controls, coordinate with appropriate University offices; develop procedures and maintains financial records and internal controls, and perform other duties as assigned. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
