The Science Information Technology (IT) department in the Eberly College of Science is looking for a motivated and self-driven IT professional to join their Service Desk team. This team is responsible for the IT needs of roughly 850 faculty and staff, plus graduate students, in a diverse research and teaching environment. Primary duties of this position will include the triaging of work requests submitted by customers via email and over the phone, autonomously troubleshooting and resolving Tier 1 requests, and providing assistance to other members of the team with various tasks like the delivery of workstations, software installations, and computer imaging. Qualified candidates will have a strong work ethic and a passion for providing empathetic and intelligent customer service. Being enthusiastic about working on a diverse team is essential. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate with customers, as well as colleagues, in a clear and positive way. This is a wage appointment that will work shifts between Monday and Friday for a total of 20 hours per week.
