Description

The Bursar’s Office is seeking a self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and dedicated individual with a commitment to teamwork to join our office as an Accounting Specialist. Candidates must be committed to excellent customer service and enjoy working in a team environment. This position is part of the Payment and Reconciliation Team and is responsible for making sure all transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner. Primary duties are to assist with processing all payments related to Student Account Statements, Acceptance Fees and Wire Transfers. In addition, this position will reconcile transactions recorded to the Student Account including, but not limited to, the following: eCheck payments, credit card payments, and refunds. This position is also responsible for researching, processing, and reviewing individual student account refunds requested from other Bursar Office team members, University departments, and students. This position provides a high level of in-depth analysis of student accounts, collaborates with other Bursar Office team members and University departments to resolve customer issues. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is highly desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, grammatical, and customer service skills are essential.
