The Business Process Analyst provides ongoing support for Penn State’s PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student information system, LionPATH. This posting is for support of Admissions and admissions-related activities, and will report to the Admissions Team Lead. The individual in this role will: Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and assist with the translation into specialized requirements. Create detailed functional system requirement documents. Analyze/diagnose system issues, analyze business processes, and design functional solutions for system enhancements. Test and document system functionality. Execute the test cycle, including the creation and execution of test plans, as well as hands-on testing and documenting results. Develop training materials in conjunction with functional offices. Execute functional test plans and documents test statistics metrics and results. Design queries and may work with functional offices on dashboards for business intelligence system associated with LionPATH. Analyze/diagnose and resolve production issues. Resolve tickets in issue tracking system and function as LionPATH Tier 3 support. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all business processes in functional area. Provide written and oral status updates to other LDMO members and functional offices. Lead small scale system design, modification, upgrade and implementation projects. Identify, define, and document business process and application requirements in order to create To-Be business process flows for proposed system changes. Understand and perform elements of standard project management methodology. Create documentation for new software bundles, releases, upgrades and data. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications include in-depth knowledge of the Admissions area of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Experience working in student administrative services in higher education. Working knowledge of requirements definition techniques. Effective customer service and presentation skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills along with good attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Visio. Ability to communicate technology concepts to both specialized and non-specialized audiences. Ability to recognize data anomalies and problems and to identify corrective actions. Ability to train, and mentor peers. Required qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
