Description

The Office of the University Registrar is looking for a Records Specialist with strong customer service, attention to detail, problem solving, and communication skills for the Academic Records Department. Responsibility will be primarily for supporting the Degree Audit system including coding of academic program requirements, responding to specific problems generated by users, participating in testing, analyzing processing issues, troubleshooting problems, training/support of college and academic department staff, and testing and refining the system. In addition, this position will be responsible for processing the student-athlete academic certification which includes accurately identifying and applying eligibility requirements to determine satisfactory academic progress and eligibility for competition each semester, while remaining compliant with University, Big Ten, and NCAA rules and regulations. Serves as liaison with the Athletic Department Compliance Student Services Office, the student-athlete advising Morgan Center, Faculty Athletic Representative, and academic colleges. The individuals will be expected to gain an advanced knowledge and understanding of academic programs and athletic certification rules and regulations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring the department email; provide guidance and support to university staff, faculty, students, and parents; adhere to university policies and procedures; ensure student confidentiality is maintained per FERPA regulation. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
