Access Services is seeking a detail-oriented individual to assist in the general maintenance of circulating collections at the Library Annex locations. This is an off-campus job requiring work performed at all four Annex locations: 3110/3035 Research Drive; Science Park Annex; and the Academic Activities Building. Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the work location, which is on the CATA K-bus route. Duties include: loading and unloading of a van; operation of a University vehicle making multiple trips to retrieve Special Collections materials from Cato Park 1, Cato-2, and Science Park Annexes; transport and deliver Special Collections materials to the Pattee Library loading dock; pick-up and deliver packages for the Inactive Records Center; pick-up donated material on request. Other duties include: filling book and article requests; processing Circulation and Interlibrary Loan reports; updating unit statistics; using SirsiDynix Symphony to perform updates to the catalog record; preparing new items for storage. Pick-up, delivery, sorting, shifting and shelving of library material between Annex locations and University Park locations will occur daily. May be asked to provide assistance to the Collection Maintenance unit at University Park Library locations as needed. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. University employees must be 21 years of age or older to operate University fleet vehicles. Requires maintaining a valid United States (Issued by a “state”), or Canadian Province Operator’s license. Note: An overseas or international driver’s license does not meet eligibility requirements. Undergraduate students are not authorized to reserve, sign for, or operate Fleet vehicles. Graduate students with assistantships and serving as part-time teaching assistants are considered employees for purposes of Fleet vehicle rental. Please note that this exception to policy does not waive the basic Fleet eligibility requirement. Candidates must possess the ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, ability to foster a collaborative work environment that empowers employees to contribute to the goals of the University Libraries. This is an ongoing position.
