The College of Information Sciences and Technology is seeking a conscientious and detail oriented individual to be part of the college’s Research Administration Office. This position will perform work activities in a fast paced, complex and detailed environment that requires multi-tasking expertise, managing conflicting priorities, timely work production, and the ability to solve complex problems. The selected individual’s job responsibilities will include, Pre-Award and Post-Award duties. Responsible for assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation and development of proposals and contracts for funding sponsored programs. Review, analyze, and submit proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations. Advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. The successful candidate will complete Post-Award tasks such as; reviewing and processing grant and contractual awards, create new accounts and budget funds. Manage sponsored projects which can involve sponsored approved budget revisions, no-cost extension requests, account transfers, administration of subcontracts, monitor deadlines for technical and financial reports, prepare spend outs and approve expenditures. Ensure project expenditures are in compliance with guidelines. Process closeouts of all externally funded research accounts. Serve as liaison with sponsors and other University offices. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of IBIS, Strategic Information Management System (SIMS), SIMS budgets preferred. Enrolled in or graduate of Penn State ACES preferred. Capability to work both independently and as a team member, ability to multi-task and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential. Experience with electronic proposal submission sites required.
