Enterprise Applications, a unit of Penn State Information Technology, is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to fill a Marketing Communications Specialist 3 position. This role will assist in the planning and implementation of strategic communication initiatives, mass emails to the University and increase engagement around teaching, learning, research, and outreach. This role includes researching and writing high-profile communications across traditional and digital media to showcase new and innovative technologies in Enterprise Applications and their impact across the University as well as writing scripts for help desk support teams. The person will also translate specialized information to the University community in the form of announcements, documentation, and other communications around Penn State’s enterprise applications, including Office 365 and the G Suite, and associated tools. Other duties include creating content to showcase outcomes of enterprise service offerings and initiatives, and highlighting the impact on programs and initiatives in support of the university’s strategic plan. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements for this position include: previous experience in a public relations/communications position; proven success in writing for publication in print, web, and other platforms; interpersonal and oral communication skills, editing skills, organization of thoughts in a clear, concise, and ordered manner. Also needed is proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines, work with minimal supervision on difficult assignments, and experience working and collaborating on a team. Previous experience in higher education, technical writing, and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is preferred. Additionally, knowledge of both AP and Chicago writing styles and familiarity with various collaboration tools, Office 365, and the G Suite are desired.
