Description

The Social Science Research Institute is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator 2. This new member of our administrative team will serve a coordinator role in both the administrative and financial functions of the Institute. Financial duties will include, but are not limited to processing financial documents in IBIS, Employee Reimbursement System (ERS) and eBuy for general, miscellaneous and restricted accounts and reviewing direct bills and distributing charges. The position is also responsible for managing the key and facilities requests for the Institute. The administrative duties will include support for our internal seed grants program such as data input, and collecting and organizing research progress reports. This position is also responsible for working closely with the Institute Director to maintain calendars and schedules, assisting with the institute business and other office-related functions including greeting and managing visitors, meeting setup/cleanup, and providing general office support. The successful candidate will have work experience in a research-focused academic environment, possess strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, and be well organized and detail-oriented. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products and Penn State software (including ERS, eBuy, and IBIS) is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointments funded for one year from date of hire with a good possibility for re-funding.
