Description

The Office of Information Security (OIS) is seeking candidates for a Security Services Manager. The Security Services Manager will be instrumental in the implementation of Penn State’s information security program and will play a crucial part in daily security operations. This position provides oversight for activities including data loss prevention, e-discovery/forensic activities, endpoint data protection, privileged access management, disaster recovery planning, and frontline customer support. The Security Services Manager also provides leadership, management, and participation for internal and external OIS projects and initiatives. This position will be active in developing Penn State’s security community. The Security Services Manager requires the capacity to instigate change and foster continuous quality improvement. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Strong understanding of system and network security principles, technologies, regulations, and strategies is preferred. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated management background, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated background in information technology is required. This position also requires the successful candidate to manage a level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive matters.
