The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, assisting students, faculty, and staff members with complex problems regarding curriculum/program issues for the current and new resident and on-line graduate programs. Responsible for supporting the implementation of new courses for the current and new graduate programs as well as helping the graduate programs coordinator in identifying internship opportunities for the resident students. Work closely with the department head, the graduate program coordinator and IME faculty to coordinate, implement, oversee, evaluate, document, and report all activities related to the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (M.S. in IE), the Ph.D. in IE, Operation Research graduate dual degrees, on-line Certificate in Human Factors in Engineering and Ergonomics, the newly launched on-line Master of Engineering (M Eng) starting Fall 2019 and the new Master of Science in Service Enterprise Engineering (M.S. in SEE) to be launched on or before August 2021. Coordinate the required reporting for the Graduate School and other stakeholders. Track all of the on-line and in resident students enrolled in the graduate programs and answer questions and ensure that they are completing their degree program in a timely manner, coordinate their adviser selection, internships, fellowship opportunities, and available projects, while also coordinating with companies for projects, internships, and course engagements. Monitor all enrollments related to the on-line and resident programs and provide statistical reports to the department head, graduate program coordinator, faculty body and the college representatives. Develop new processes and procedures relevant to the support and needs of the office. Oversee the financial offers and commitments to graduate students consistent with program budget constraints. Manage the implementation of university and Graduate School policies and policy changes including communication of changes with faculty, staff and students. Coordinate, manage and provide strategic direction related to the successful recruitment of students into degree and certificate programs. Coordinate graduate program handbook, web and marketing materials. Develop and implement systems that educate and engage faculty in the recruiting process. Coordinate the admission process by working with the various faculty teams making admission decisions. Direct, mentor and supervise the work of two Administrative Support Assistants who support the department's on campus and on-line graduate degree programs and certificates. More information about the department is available at The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience with GRADS, LionPATH, WorkDay, and Microsoft Office preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication are essential.
