Description

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking an Instructor capable of teaching multiple sections of SCIED 458 (Teaching Science in Elementary School), a science teaching methods course. The Instructor would be responsible for all of the teaching duties for assigned sections. The Instructor would be responsible for coordinating with the other SCIED 458 instructors, as well as instructors teaching math and social studies methods and field experience during the Disciplinary Inquiry block. The recommended qualities are a background in any disciplinary area of science and teaching experience in K-12 schools, ideally in elementary or middle grades contexts. Reasonable knowledge of contemporary reform in science education is necessary (e.g., NGSS, 3D science learning). Desired qualities include experience with higher education teaching, either in teacher education or science or engineering disciplines; teacher professional development delivery; or instructional coaching.
