Description

The Pennsylvania State University's Office of General Counsel is continuing to expand the breadth and depth of the legal services it provides to the University and Penn State Health. We are seeking to hire a highly qualified Attorney who brings a wide range of experience and background to Penn State Health’s healthcare operations at our Hershey campus. The Associate General Counsel position described in this posting will have primary responsibility for legal issues in Hershey related to general corporate contracting with an emphasis on support of our procurement services, software licensing agreements, leases, real estate, and construction arrangements. The successful candidate may also have some responsibility for general healthcare advising, including experience with professional services agreements, so prior experience in the health care setting will be strongly preferred. The successful candidate may also advise on the full range of other issues facing the University and Health System on the Hershey campus. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a J.D. or L.L.B. from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school or higher plus ten years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Applicants must be admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or be eligible for prompt admission. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism, possess superior communication skills, have demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and professional manner with peers and clients, and have a strong interest in working in the Penn State University’s Office of General Counsel on the Hershey, Pennsylvania campus.
