The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University ( invites applications from rising stars or established investigators working to address modern challenges in cancer research. WE are seeking assistant, associate, or professor-rank applicants. The department’s funding portfolio in cancer-related studies has recently sky-rocketed and the number of faculty members has more than doubled. This growth has created an innovative cluster of faculty working at the interface of cancer research and biomedical engineering. Excellent laboratory space is available in our new building as part of our continued expansion, along with world-class computing resources (, shared facilities with the Huck Institutes of Life Sciences ( and Materials Research Institute (, along with highly competitive start-up packages. This joint position is co-sponsored by the Penn State Cancer Institute ( and the Center for Structural Oncology at the Huck Institutes. We are particularly interested in candidates with an accomplished track record in mechanistic- and/or technology-based cancer studies using state-of-the-art approaches or tools including: cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryo-EM); light-sheet imaging, or super-resolution microscopy; cellular and molecular engineering of immunotherapies; microbiome studies related to cancer development or therapeutic interventions. An established funding record in cancer research is strongly preferred.
