Outreach and Online Education (OOE) is looking for a detail-oriented, service-centered, and team-focused professional who is passionate about supporting OOE missions. The Compliance Specialist will review Department of Education and state regulations relating to the World Campus and the University and strive to ensure compliance with same. A major responsibility for the position will be to assist in maintaining the University’s membership in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) and will be charged with gathering information for data submissions to the national council (NC-SARA). This position will communicate with the colleges and units (via collaboration with World Campus’ Program Planning & Management) to provide education and training, as well as to gather professional licensure/certification information. The Compliance Specialist will be required to maintain an efficient and effective record keeping system for a wide variety of regulatory forms, documents, and information. This person will also be required to attend 1-2 national workshops/conferences per year in order to stay apprised of all membership rules and federal regulations, and will be responsible for organizing the annual PA Distance Education and SARA Workshop, an collaboration between the World Campus and the PA Department of Education. The Compliance Specialist will also serve as support to the Contracts Administrator and will be performing such duties as reviewing and processing contracts for OOE. Additional internal compliance duties may be assigned in the future. This position will be responsible for organizing OOE’s annual Compliance Week. We seek candidates who can demonstrate experience and ability to advance OOE’s diversity initiative. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, able to interpret state and federal regulations, process documents, maintain accurate records, and interact with a wide range of people at different levels within the University and externally. Proficiency with databases and web applications is a must. Commitment to excel in a collaborative team environment is required. A passion for excellence and an exceptional work ethic will characterize the successful candidate. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
