Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology is seeking candidates for a health educator to teach stress management and health education classes. The classes meet in the evenings (Monday or Wednesday) for 10 sessions over a 9 week period (1, 45 minute orientation class, 8, 2.5 hour classes, and 1 Saturday 7 hour retreat class). There will be 4 courses given per year, training is provided on the class curriculum. This is a grant-funded position, first class begins in January 2020 and will run through December 2024. Classes will be made up of both research and non-research participants. In addition to teaching the class, other responsibilities include maintaining subject enrollment and attendance logs as well as communicating with the participants and research staff according to study guidelines. Ideal candidate must have small group teaching experience, with excellent communication and public speaking skills. Background in nutrition and fitness preferred.
