Description

Hospitality Services’ Event Operations Department at The Nittany Lion Inn is seeking an energetic, organized, and motivated individual, with experience in audio/visual equipment setup dedicated to providing exceptional customer service as a full-time Audio-Visual Department Supervisor. The right candidate will be responsible for overseeing AV Staff in all physical room set-ups for functions and public areas. The supervised tasks will include but are not limited to: set up and arrange tables, chairs and stage/risers, place pads/pens and water glasses and pitchers where applicable, and to specifications noted on the Banquet Event Order and diagrams, when applicable, per function. The right candidate will also be responsible for ensuring audio/visual equipment is set up and functioning properly for all functions, including laptops, projectors, wireless handheld microphones, wireless lavalier microphones, video cameras, presentation setups, and other audio/visual setups as requested and will also maintain an inventory of all equipment and ensure it is stored properly and maintained in good working order. The supervisor will oversee the cleaning of all work material and function rooms (room vacuuming, tables/chairs, audio/visual equipment, coffee break service, etc.) as required. Other responsibilities include hiring, coaching, training, and scheduling the AV staff to meet business needs. Work hours are various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
