The College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Financial Assistant 4 to serve as a key team member of the College’s Finance Office. This position will act as the first point of contact between the Finance Office and assigned Departments and Centers, providing financial guidance, training and problem resolution. Candidates must be committed to excellent customer service and enjoy working in a team environment. Primary duties are to verify, approve and process electronic financial documents in Employee Reimbursement System (ERS), eBuy+ and IBIS, while ensuring compliance with University and College policies and procedures. Review purchasing card and auto-posted transactions. Maintain and audit gift card reconciliation logs for the college. Assist in budgeting and monitoring accounts/cost centers in assigned areas. Review and approve deposits, and perform cash handling duties. Monitor and resolve posting errors. Maintain and update databases, records and files. The ideal candidate will have strong organization and time management skills. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in the use of database applications for analysis and reporting is preferred. Knowledge of University-specific financial and human resource systems is not required; however, general and transferable knowledge relative to other financial mainframe and human capital management systems is expected. This individual must be proactive in identifying problems and solutions and possess a strong work ethic and initiative. Essential skills include accounting experience, organization, attention to detail and time management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with a strong teamwork and diversity commitment and a commitment to excellent customer service is required.
