The Student Farm at Penn State has internship openings for current Penn State students interested in working and learning with the Student Farm in our fourth growing season! Visit to learn more about the program. Interns will be accountable for ensuring safety, maintaining quality produce, and contributing to a fun, collaborative, and educational work environment. Student farmers will learn about and engage in farm management, production, and marketing while incorporating community and education through coordinating volunteers, tours, class visits, events, and more. Experience in relevant fields is welcome, but not required. More important is the motivation to learn and contribute to a positive work environment. Pay is $11.00 per hour. Work is 12-15 hours per week through late November. Work is primarily outdoors, but includes some computer-based work such as record keeping and blog writing. The position requires driving a university vehicle as needed. Reliable transportation to the Student Farm is required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
