Penn State’s Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) is seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field. This full-time position will coordinate SSRI’s Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative podcast series, which will involve communicating science to public and policy audiences and manage SSRI’s Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse (CCSA) communications, which includes engaging with faculty/staff involved with the CCSA, writing news releases, developing newsletters, website updates, creating social media content, and handling conference and outreach communications. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with social media platforms is preferred. The ideal candidate will be proficient in programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, and Wordpress. Strong candidates also will exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills and background and interest in the social and behavioral sciences. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
