Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW),, at Penn State is one of the largest celebrations of entrepreneurship and innovation in the nation. The Pennsylvania State Education Credit Union (PSECU) GEW Endowed Internship (paid) is open to two third-semester or higher students in any major and is a one semester opportunity for the fall of 2019. Anticipated graduation date must be no earlier than December 2019. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to plan, execute, and lead a GEW event related to their area of expertise and study. Furthermore, the student will work with the Penn State GEW Coordinator to help determine key areas of student interest in GEW, will offer recommendations to increase the quality of student participation and will work to increase the involvement of student organizations. The exact scope of the work may be customized to each student’s particular academic goals and desired learning outcomes with the stated guidelines used as a benchmark when determining those goals and outcomes. The successful candidates will be paid $10.00 per hour for up to 60 hours of work during the semester. The student will be expected to track their progress towards their set goals and to produce a written mid-semester progress report and a reflection paper upon completion of the internship. The successful candidate will report directly to the Penn State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) team and be in communication with the PSECU State College Community Manager on a semi-frequent basis. The mid-semester report and final reflection paper will be shared with PSECU. Applicant should provide a cover letter, current resume, and one academic or professional reference.
