Description

The Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness (Clearinghouse) at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Research Professor to assist in the scientific development, implementation, dissemination, and maintenance of research projects and curriculum-based programming. The Clearinghouse is an applied research center, nationally recognized for its work that focuses on improving the health and well-being of military service members and their families. Projects focus on topics such as parenting, building family resilience, preventing family violence, enhancing child and youth development, suicide prevention, obesity prevention, evaluation of mental health treatments, veteran transitions from military to civilian life, and families at risk, among numerous others. The Assistant Research Professor will be responsible for the synthesis of current empirical research and the formulation of literature reviews to inform project work and curriculum development. Expertise in research methodology, statistical interpretation of empirical research, and research/technical writing is required. Experience in the areas of curriculum and program development is preferred. The Research Assistant Professor will collaborate with a team of professionals and subject matter experts, both internal and external, across various topic areas to meet research and programmatic goals. Minimum requirements include a completed Ph.D. degree at the time of hire in a social science field, as well as advanced evaluative, statistical, and writing skills. The appointment will be effective Fall 2019. Qualified candidates should submit a letter describing interest, a CV outlining background and experience, and contact information for three references.
