Description

The African Studies Program is looking for an Administrative Assistant who will function in multiple capacities. The successful candidate will help in the restructuring and rebuilding of the program, along with providing regular administrative support for faculty, including answering phones, photocopying, and other miscellaneous tasks. Responsibilities include scheduling and maintaining calendar for Program Director; interfacing with other departments and faculty in support of new initiatives, while working closely with the faculty on such new initiatives; assist with events for African Studies, as requested; help with the creations of specific informational databases, (i.e. listing of Africanist across Penn State); and perform website management. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, PowerPoint. A bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
