Description

The Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Community Outreach, Research, and Evaluation (CORE) at Penn State Behrend is seeking an experienced candidate to serve as the full-time Associate Director of Research and Evaluation. Primary responsibilities for this position will include oversight and implementation of activities within the Research and Evaluation arm of CORE, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses, development of quantitative and qualitative experimental designs, project and database management, extensive grant writing, evaluation report writing, and survey/assessment development. The successful candidate will possess extensive training and/or experience in both quantitative and qualitative experimental methods, and strong data analysis skills using SPSS (required), MPlus and/or R (strongly preferred), and at least one qualitative analysis program (e.g., NVivo). Ability to organize, implement, and transcribe individual and focus group interviews in a research context is also preferred. The successful candidate should be proficient in correlational (e.g., multiple regression) and experimental (e.g., ANOVA) designs, and familiar with path analysis and longitudinal techniques (e.g., Structural Equation Modeling, Hierarchical Linear Modeling). The successful candidate should also excel in interpersonal communication and team building, show initiative in seeking outside funding opportunities, be comfortable working independently, and have an interest in working with youth to promote positive youth development. Teaching opportunities may be available. Master’s degree is required; Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
