The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering is seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced individual to provide support with human resources, administrative and financial functions for a high-volume department. The successful candidate will initiate, track the status and manage the hiring paperwork for various levels of human resources appointments for the department. Such appointments include postdoctoral scholars, wage payroll, and visiting scholars from initiation of the position via Workday to ensure completion of the hiring business process. This position serves as the main liaison with the College Human Resources office and will coordinate the processing of all visas, including initiation of required paperwork via the iStart system and will initiate the department check-in-process for all incoming scholars, monitoring through to completion including H1B, Permanent Residency, and J Visa processes. This position manages/maintains database of assigned appointments, position-related department guidelines, and hiring check sheets. Additionally, this position serves as a backup to the financial assistant and processes financial related requests including but not limited to reconciliation of purchasing card charges, faculty travel assistance and report reconciliation, purchase orders and the processing of IBIS documents (IDCC, SRFC, JV and ROCR). Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office 365, IBIS, ERS, FIT, iTwo, EJMS, iStart and Workday, is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication are essential. Candidate must demonstrate professionalism with a high commitment to customer service; organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage and prioritize tasks with minimal direction; and exercise discretion and judgment while managing confidential information.
