The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant to provide support to the Associate Department Head and faculty, and operational support within the department. Support provided to the Associate Head includes: creating and maintaining files, databases, and reports; monitor and track expenditures; prepare and process correspondence of a confidential nature; maintain calendar; arrange meetings and events; track and report endowment and scholarship information using e-Stewart. Department support includes: serve as key coordinator; answer and screen phone calls; reserve conference rooms; order supplies; answer questions and provide assistance to internal/external individuals via email and phone. Develop, design, and produce the department newsletter; maintain web pages; edit and format the annual department report; assist in maintaining social media sites; maintain listservs; process travel, group meal, and purchasing card forms using Employee Reimbursement System (ERS); coordinate faculty searches by collecting confidential information, arranging interviews and itineraries, assisting in travel arrangements, and acting as point of contact for the search committee. Assist with preparing, writing, and producing of reports and presentations for the Associate Head and faculty. Provide support to the Administrative Manager and back-up support to the Department Head. Perform other duties within the department as needed. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. University ERS, eBuy, e-Steward, and Microsoft Office experience preferred. Should possess excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
