Description

Reporting to the Director of Client Success, the Information Technology (IT) Project Manager will play a critical role in organizing, structuring, leading, and communicating the success of projects within Outreach Information Technology (OIT) and Outreach and Online Education. The IT Project Manager’s scope will include IT and business initiatives aimed at providing key solutions towards addressing the various goals and operations of Outreach and Online Education. The IT Project Manager will occupy a key role in OIT that will set the tone for positive, cross-functional collaborations across IT and business partners. The IT Project Manager will manage and support a variety of projects that deliver solutions consisting of 3rd party applications, PSU enterprise applications and services, on-premise technologies, and in-house developed applications and data solutions. The IT Project Manager will be an experienced leader of people, capable of establishing high performing project teams with an ability to adapt to the unique business environments in which they work. The IT Project Manager will act as an expert communicator, adept at reading and adjusting to the expectations of the business areas in which they are engaged. The IT Project Manager must be able to effectively leverage both professional capabilities as well as soft-skills in helping their project teams navigate challenges and achieve success. We expect candidates that can approach the role with finesse on a strong foundation of emotional intelligence. The IT Project Manager will need to be comfortable in the spotlight and is expected to confidently act in accordance with departmental core values and uphold a high bar for excellence. OIT values customer focused candidates with excellent written and oral communication, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Candidates should communicate ideas in both specialized and audience appropriate language, be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, possess keen attention to detail, think outside of the box, and challenge the status quo. Expert knowledge in Project Management standards and practices is required. Industry certification (e.g. PMI, Scrum Master) is preferred. Proven experience in the use of Agile methodologies is desirable. Top notch communication skills and ability to collaborate are essential. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
