Description

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant for the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic. Provide program staff support to the Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic. Schedule appointments for the clinic, maintain client database, receive payments for services and handle income according to University policy. Process third-party billing (insurance) and monthly billings, process credit card payments, issue receipts, and prepare daily deposits of cash, checks and credit cards. Organize data for accurate reporting of sales/income, and provide staff support to clinic faculty/graduate student clinicians to include preparing, maintaining, and monitoring files. Manage clinical materials and supplies, place and monitor orders, administer keys for faculty, staff, and students; also manage/maintain inventory of office supplies for department, provide purchasing card reconciliation for department, and serve on the HIPAA Compliance Team. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional specialized training beyond the high school level or completion of formal high school vocational program or equivalent is strongly preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record/billing experience is preferred. Previous Medicare and other insurance billing and work-related experience is a plus. Knowledge of University-specific financial systems is not required; however, general and transferable knowledge relative to other financial mainframe systems is expected. The successful applicant will have the ability to maintain confidentiality, coordinate several projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks. In addition, the individual will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented, capable of self-management, and possess excellent judgment and problem-solving skills. The ability to handle multiple tasks and a strong commitment to customer service, diversity, and teamwork are essential.
