Penn State World Campus is accepting applications for a part-time News and Communications Intern for the fall 2019 semester. The Intern will write journalistic-style articles about Penn State World Campus students for publication on The Intern will receive student story ideas and be expected to contact and interview those students to find newsworthy and human-interest content to shape articles. The stories will be shared through internal and external platforms, such as Penn State World Campus social media channels and Penn State Today. The ideal candidate will have strong journalism skills, such as conducting thorough interviews, identifying interesting details, organizing details to tell a story in a journalistic style, AP style, and meeting deadlines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong time-management skills. This paid internship is open to journalism or public relations majors who have completed Comm 260: News Writing and is available for eight hours a week. The Intern will work closely with the assistant director for Penn State World Campus news and communications on all phases of the creation of the stories.
