Administrative Support Coordinator (Communications and Marketing Coordinator)

The Penn State College of Engineering seeks a Coordinator to support the senior director and the administrative needs of the Communications and Marketing Department. The Coordinator also supports the execution of departmental initiatives in areas such as editorial content distribution via web content management systems, email marketing, publications production and distribution, and digital analytics and reporting. Departmental coordination activities include budgetary support, processing, and routing; schedule coordination, calendaring and meeting planning; project management for key initiatives; and meeting notetaking and minutes. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The position requires knowledge in effective use of Office 365 applications, the ability to use Penn State systems for activities such as budgeting and meeting and room scheduling, and digital analytics report generation for platforms such as Google, social media, and Constant Contact. The successful candidate will be flexible, collaborative and eager to learn, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate many projects and initiatives simultaneously with oversight from the senior director and others in the department but also through a large degree of self-management. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
