Penn State seeks a dynamic and experienced Human Resources professional to serve as a lead Human Resources Consultant (Generalist) to support several campuses in the South Central region of Pennsylvania including Mont Alto, York and Dickinson Law. This position will directly support approximately 1500 individuals in full-time and part-time faculty, staff, and technical service (bargaining unit) positions and will supervise one additional Human Resources Consultant. The incumbent will coordinate and lead a wide variety of human resources activities for the campuses across multiple human resource functions to include: equal opportunity, organizational development, talent management and acquisition, diversity initiatives, total rewards, and compliance monitoring. This position will focus heavily on employee/labor relations and strategic development. In addition, the Human Resources Consultant will provide guidance and advice to campus leadership on HR-related issues and policies and procedures; initiate and/or respond to inquiries such as performance concerns; analyze data and prepare reports; coordinate HR transactions; and work with the Office of Human Resources staff to implement new or continuing legal requirements or initiatives. Reporting to the Human Resource Strategic Partner/Regional HR Director, the Human Resources Consultant operates with discretion within established guidelines, and regularly travels to all three campuses in this region. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess an outstanding customer service orientation; a commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity; excellent written and verbal communication skills; aptitude for finding technology-driven approaches to ongoing work processes; the ability to work independently and cooperatively with various levels of administrators and staff; and excellent judgment and organizational skills. Must be able to embrace and champion change as the University currently moves toward a new HR service delivery model. This position will be based out of the York campus, with periodic travel to the Mont Alto campus. Since this position requires that the incumbent operate a motor vehicle as part of the job duties, a valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
