The College of Information Sciences and Technology, Research Administration Office is seeking a conscientious and detail oriented individual for the position of Proposal and Award Generalist 2. This position will perform work activities in a fast-paced, complex and multifaceted environment that requires multi-tasking expertise, managing conflicting priorities, timely work production, and the ability to solve complex problems. The selected individual’s job responsibilities will include, but not limited to: assist in the administration of policies and procedures for the preparation and development of proposals and contracts; preparing proposal subsections including budgets and non-technical components of applications; reviewing and interpreting guidelines to advise faculty while adhering to sponsor and University regulations; and determine project expenditures are in compliance with guidelines. Review proposals for University signature and submission to government agencies, private companies, and foundations. Review, analyze and process grant and contractual awards. Assist in the management of sponsored projects which can involve monitoring of progress reports, technical and/or final reports and other research administration functions. This position works with various Central offices including the Office of Sponsored Programs, Research Accounting, Office of Research Protections and Risk Management. Capability to work both independently and as a team member, ability to multi-task and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate of Penn State ACOR Education Series(ACES) and experience with electronic proposal submission sites, IBIS, Strategic Information Management System (SIMS), SIMS Budgets and MS Office is preferred.
