Description

The Extreme Computing and Platforms department in the Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (AIS) Division of the Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) within the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Software Engineer who desires to work in a growing area encompassing a variety of research and technology disciplines. AIS supports a number of research areas and programs in autonomous vehicles, acoustics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal/image processing, high performance/embedded computing, cybersecurity, UI/UX and Test and Evaluation that provide a unique opportunity for the applicant. This job will be filled as a level 1, level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (Professional Engineer license accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree) or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal/image processing, high-performance computing, systems engineering, cybersecurity and Test and Evaluation are highly desired. Experience with programming languages and development environments is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
