Description

Penn Hazleton is searching for a Professional Tutor to support general physics courses (topics include mechanics, electricity and magnetism) for the fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters. The professional tutor will facilitate individual and small group tutoring appointments on as as-needed basis (10 hours per week maximum, no minimum limit). In addition to content instruction, the professional tutor will integrate effective study and learning strategies into tutoring sessions with the ultimate goal of assisting students in becoming successful and independent learners. There may be other duties as assigned. Candidates for this position will adhere to Penn State’s Academic Integrity policy; agree to act appropriately in terms of communication, session notes, punctuality, and collegiality; and agree to act in a professional manner respecting all types of individuals in our diverse university community. Tutoring will occur within the Student Success Center, on campus, unless otherwise approved. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. Prior tutoring experience is strongly preferred.
