The Department of Psychology seeks a detail-oriented, self-motivated person with exceptional customer service skills to provide staff support for the online Master of Professional Studies in Psychology of Leadership at Work (PSYLD) graduate program as well as the department’s established online undergraduate BS/BA psychology program. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and handle the fast-paced operational and administrative activities involved with online programs in the Department of Psychology. Responsibilities include maintaining databases of historical course offerings, staffing, enrollment, course development and updates, and approved transfer credits. This position will assist with assignment of instructors to courses. This individual will assist the Director and graduate committee in managing the application and admission process for the MPS program, to include reviewing of application portfolios, maintaining student records, analyzing applicant data, generating reports, and performing degree audits. They will be responsible for assisting students with withdrawals, course drops, course adds, transfer credits, grade changes, and for answering general applicant/student questions and concerns. This position will be the curricular liaison with college and university-level committees. This person will communicate with current and perspective students and therefore must portray a professional and positive image at all times. The successful candidate will also be primarily responsible for the graduate student orientation process including assistance with University Web based programs including Canvas, LionPATH, and PSU webmail. This individual will also assist with supplying web content and maintaining the Elements of Residency for the PSYLD Website. In addition, this position may coordinate special events related to graduate programs. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of University enrollment policies and procedures required. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity software to perform complex word processing, database, and spreadsheet functions. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
