The John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering (EME; http://www.eme.psu.edu) at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position as an instructor for Mining Engineering. Candidates for the position must hold a master’s degree or preferably a Ph.D. in mining engineering or a closely related field, must be committed to excellence in teaching, and have at least 2 years of experience either as an instructor of mining related courses, and/or research; or working in the mining industry, a consulting firm, or a government agency with a major focus on the mining industry. Registration as a professional engineer is desirable. Responsibilities of the applicant will include teaching undergraduate courses and advising students. Mining has a long and acclaimed history at Penn State focused on all phases of coal mining and mine health and safety, and now expanding into aggregates and critical minerals.
