Responsible for managing daily administrative functions of the 2D Crystal Consortium (2DCC) within the Materials Research Institute by supporting the leadership of the National Science Foundation/Materials Innovation Platform program including the Director of Operations/User Facilities, the Director and Co-director responsible for organizing the 2D Data Framework functions of the 2DCC. Duties Include: maintaining and organizing data and reports for the 2D Data Framework initiative portion of the 2DCC and coordinating group meetings of the same, coordinating group meetings such as National Science Foundation(NSF) visits, the 2DCC user meeting and the 2DCC External Advisory Committee meeting, supporting webinar logistics including external speakers, as well as processing Employee Reimbursement System travel reports for all of the above. This position will also be responsible for managing the daily administrative functions for Quantum Materials Research including: maintaining and organizing data and reports for the Quantum Materials Activities at Penn State, help coordinating new proposal development and submissions related to the Quantum Materials Activities, monitor budget, maintain calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meeting logistics. Additionally, this position will be responsible for assisting in administrative functions of the ATOMIC industry consortium on an as needed basis. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
