Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) is seeking a Community Health Educator (CHE) to provide services for students with alcohol or marijuana violations and to assist with the implementation of general health promotion and wellness initiatives. The position provides alcohol and marijuana services for approximately 20 hours per week and assists in the development and implementation of alcohol education and wellness initiatives for approximately 20 hours per week. The Community Health Educator reports to an Assistant Director. Responsibilities include conducting brief screening, individual assessment, intervention, and referral. Additional responsibilities include conducting alcohol and other drug educational programs for student groups (e.g. fraternities, sororities, student organizations, academic classes, etc.). The individual is also responsible for the development and implementation of health promotion and wellness initiatives. The CHE is responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards for education and prevention practice. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
