The School of International Affairs (SIA), a professional graduate school offering a Master of International Affairs degree, is rapidly growing and expanding. Staff are part of a cohesive team that works closely together, while also providing individuals the opportunity to grow, invest in themselves, and develop professionally. At SIA, staff work side by side with faculty and administrators to shape the School’s future. SIA is currently seeking an Enrollment Services Specialist to assist with graduate student recruitment, admissions, and advising. This position is responsible for traveling to and attending a variety of recruitment fairs, events, and other admissions related trips on behalf of the School. The position will have a focus on outreach, building relationships, and recruiting within Pennsylvania, at Penn State, and for Integrated Undergraduate-Graduate (IUG) programs. In addition, this position will meet with and counsel prospective students; respond to inquiries related to admissions throughout the various stages of the cycle; review and make recommendations on applicant files; participate in and coordinate information sessions, workshops, and other admissions events to educate students about the program and admissions process; prepare and maintain a variety of reports; work in the customer relationship management (CRM) system; and assume other duties as assigned. Candidates should have familiarity with a variety of social media platforms. Experience with outreach marketing or admissions marketing is a desired. In addition to recruiting and admissions, this position will provide academic-year advising support for a subset of the student population, specifically students in the IUG programs. Over the summer months this position will serve as the primary adviser for all SIA students (both incoming and current). This includes but is not limited to: assisting with long-range planning, addressing academic questions or student concerns, and providing guidance to incoming students on various inquiries (i.e. finances, housing, orientation). Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires frequent travel with potential overnight trips, the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously, a self-driven work style, the ability to work in a fast-paced/high-volume environment, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and outstanding written and oral communication skills. This position requires operation of a motor vehicle as a part of job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
