Description

The Rasgon Lab at The Pennsylvania State University is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist in research on developing CRISPR-based techniques to manipulate diverse animal species. Duties will include cloning and construct design, protein expression and purification, general molecular biology protocols, and assistance with insect rearing. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field is preferred. Candidate must have extensive experience with cloning, construct design, and protein expression/purification techniques. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one-year from date of hire.
