Description

Penn State Abington’s Online and Information Technology department is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our staff as an Information Technology Support Specialist. Reporting directly to the Manager, Information Technology Infrastructure & Operations, primary duties include diagnosing and resolving a broad range of technology-related problems in response to customer reported incidents, while managing an exceptionally high level of professional customer service. This position also supports multi-media, video conferencing, and teaching technology in classrooms, offices, and conference rooms, as well as the management of asset inventory and assisting in planning and executing life cycle replacement programs. The successful candidate will be user focused with a desire to provide superior customer service, and building and managing exceptional relationships within the community is a critical component of this position. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient and comprehensive knowledge of personal computers, peripherals, and mobile devices, Windows OS, Mac OS, networking, analyzing techniques, and management tools is required. Must be able to convey specialized information to a wide range of IT users at the appropriate level through phone, email, and in person. Strong listening, questioning, analytical, and verbal skills are highly valued assets in the successful candidate, and communicating status and plans clearly with users is essential. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. A cover letter and resume are required for consideration.
