Description

Penn State Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, is seeking a Human Resources Associate to provide exceptional customer service to customers. Responsibilities include administrative recruiting functions including posting positions in the job vacancy system and initiating new hires and job changes for full-time Staff, Faculty, and Tech Service. The successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information; attention to detail; commitment to handling questions and concerns with speed, accuracy and professionalism; and sound judgment and discretion in referring inquiries to other HR staff members or units. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; strong customer service skills; accuracy and attention to detail; a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. The ability to develop positive relationships with peers, hiring managers, and prospective applicants is essential. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
