Description

The Penn State Alumni Association seeks an Associate Director of Membership Marketing to provide direction and support for its membership recruitment, engagement and retention activities. The position offers an opportunity to join a creative, collaborative team that develops and executes marketing and communications activities for the largest dues-paying alumni association of its kind, with over 172,000 members and more than 692,000 alumni worldwide. The Associate Director of Membership Marketing is responsible for providing content and strategy to support a multi-channel marketing program that meets the organization’s strategic objectives. This includes planning, developing and implementing marketing campaigns, writing persuasive copy for new member acquisition; assisting in the identification of target audiences, and analytically measuring messaging and overall program effectiveness. Additional responsibilities for this position include working with team members to align messaging and campaigns, creating collateral, developing and delivering advertising placements, ensuring editorial compliance; maintaining relationships with Penn State partners/offices as necessary, and providing membership marketing consultation to colleagues and volunteers. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Prior experience with audience segmentation; digital marketing; direct marketing; marketing analytics; and responsive marketing/design techniques preferred. Position requires exemplary interpersonal and organization skills; demonstrated member service leadership, as well as experience working with diverse audiences.
