Oversee stockrooms operations; maintain inventory of apparatus, spare parts, and expendable supplies; maintain stock records of supplies, spare parts, etc., and recommend replacement orders as required; receive and check in materials; consult with faculty to determine materials, equipment, and supplies needed for future terms. Maintain records of breakage; keep student lockers and laboratory benches properly stocked. Prepare, maintain, and care for laboratory materials used in the laboratory programs; maintain stocks of cultures, solutions, specimens, chemicals, etc. Assist in the set-up and teardown of experiments. Prepare, weigh, mix, account for, and put out necessary solutions, chemicals, specimens, cultures and apparatus for student experiments; issue chemicals to students and faculty. Maintain laboratories and stockrooms in a clean and orderly condition including clean-up after experiments and classes. Perform routine maintenance, repair, and calibration of basic laboratory equipment in the Science and Engineering laboratories. Assign and direct the work of part-time student lab assistants. Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training. Over 1 up to and including 2 years of effective experience. Shift: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Days Off: Saturday, Sunday NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.
