Penn State Greater Allegheny invites applications for a full-time Project (GAME) Success Coach, a grant-funded position sponsored by the Heinz Foundation. Project Giving Adolescents Meaningful Experiences (PROJECT GAME) is a transition year program for students leaving the Community Intensive Supervision Program (CISP), in which students will focus on transitioning into the workforce or college. The Lead Success Coach also requires experience in program design and implementation. The Lead Coach will report directly to the Strategic Initiatives Manager. The Lead Success Coach will mentor and manage a multi-phased support structure for CISP youth participating in the program. The lead success coach will participate in program planning with the transition team and will develop a support/intervention plans for each participant. Developed plans will then follow the youth while participating in Project GAME and after students transition out of CISP. The lead will also supervise the near-pear success coach and mange the day to day relationship with CISP staff. The lead Applications will be considered until the positions are filled. Expectations: Assist participants in navigating college/workforce systems, accessing resources and reinforcing that students belong in college/workforce; Coordinate with other community-based agencies that deliver services to siblings/families of incarcerated youth/adults; Assist facilitators with developing and delivering all Project GAME lessons and projects; Demonstrate a positive attitude toward learning and problem solving, while facilitating learning through engaging interactions; Act as a role model demonstrating that academic success and gainful employment is achievable; Develop a positive relationship with program participants; Administer assessments to determine strengths/challenges/barriers in education, social, emotional, familial, physical to develop post-release support plan; Counsel, advise & monitor students around academics, school attendance, behavior, post-secondary, and workforce opportunities; Coordinate recognition for all adjudicated students who show improvement and demonstrate active participation in all program elements; Complete appropriate documentation to capture services provided to students, as well as other necessary documents; Maintain electronic caseload notes and necessary attendance, behavior, and coursework metrics for progress, monitoring, and adjusting interventions. As a member of Project GAME the success coach is expected to maintain ongoing communications with and report to the Project Director. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master Degree preferred in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution. Training in working with adjudicated youth is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
