Description

Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), a unit of Penn State Information Technology, is looking for a highly motivated and creative individual to become an integral member of our team. This position will direct and lead the Learning Applications and Infrastructure group which manages TLT’s student computing labs, classrooms and Pollock Testing Center systems and networks; Linux remote applications, and; the mobile device management (MDM) service. This position will also participate in strategic planning, provide oversight of the Learning Applications and Infrastructure budget, and act as the service manager for the enterprise media management service (Kaltura). Critical duties include supervising eight full-time staff; staying current with new application platforms and infrastructure technologies, trends and services, and; collaborating across the University with faculty, students and other IT units. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have experience leading projects; strategic and financial planning/budgeting and; developing plans to accomplish unit goals. Other requirements for this position include working knowledge of a broad range of technologies (desktop management, VM Hosting, cloud, etc.); proven success in leading teams and cross-team collaboration; experience with personnel management; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with student computing lab systems and software for Windows and macOS; remote application services; networking; virtual machines; iOS device management (JAMF), and; ITIL (ServiceNow and Service Management) preferred.
