Description

Prune trees, shrubs, and their roots. Remove dead limbs. Paint wounds. Remove trees and shrubs. Treat wounds by applying recommended dressings as prescribed. Plant and transplant trees and shrubs. Apply spray materials and fertilizers to trees and shrubs as directed; mix spray materials. Cut bracing rods to proper length and install rods or bolts as directed. Erect scaffolding using ropes or swing stages. Climb in and about trees as necessary. Sharpen and maintain hand and power saws and other tools. Operate bucket truck, power spray equipment and power chain saw. Report need of major repairs to Tree Surgeon A Select and use proper tools and equipment for correct tree and shrub maintenance. Operate motor vehicle as required. Attach labels to trees. Assist Tree Surgeon A as required. Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver`s License (CDL) Class B and Pennsylvania Certified Applicator License, Category 6 are required. 3 to 6 months of effective experience. Shift: 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Days Off: Saturday, Sunday NOTE: EMPLOYEE MUST BE ABLE TO WEAR A RESPIRATOR AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO MEDICAL CLEARANCE. NOTE: THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TESTING FOR ALCOHOL AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES (49 CFR PART 40), AND PHYSICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS AS PER 67 PA CODE 231.85. NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER`S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS
