The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring an environment where guest service is the top priority. Daily responsibilities include training and coaching team members to provide a high level of guest service where everyone on the team responds to guest requests and inquiries with urgency, care and respect. A large component of the position includes embracing the dynamic differences represented by our diverse workforce and guest base. The successful candidate will have responsibility in hiring, training, coaching and supervising full-time technical service, student, and part-time team members who have many experiences and cultures. Additional responsibilities include problem-solving, evaluation of job performance, and creating systems for accountability and follow-up. Fiscal responsibilities include responsible financial management through systems for forecasting, ordering, inventory, food waste management, labor cost controls, and financial statements. Food safety is an operations necessity and compliance and coaching according to ServSafe, accommodation of special dietary requirements, and ensuring sanitation standards is required. In addition, there may be responsibility to oversee the maintenance of facilities, research/purchase/care of equipment, and establishment of operational standard operating procedures. The successful candidate will also assist in the research of new concepts and products to offer our guests and will have opportunities to develop menus, recipes, packaging, marketing, pricing and presentation of product/concept. Similarly, there will be opportunities to organize and supervise small- and large-scale special dining events and catering functions. Opportunities may be available for participation on committees where it will be necessary to coordinate and organize unit specific, department or university-wide projects or assignments. This position works a variety of shifts and hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays to accommodate operational needs. Please include your resume and cover letter for review. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a hospitality, business or a nutrition related discipline or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
