Description

The School of Hospitality Management is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to serve as their Financial Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include managing stewardship of the budgets for the School of Hospitality Management, including expenditures associated with its buildings, labs, offices, and event spaces. This position will work with School of Hospitality Management Director, staff, and faculty in management of accounts including budget management, monthly financial reporting, cost center accounting, check requests, journal vouchers, interdepartmental transfers, reimbursements, and problem resolution. Ideal candidate will be able to explain, interpret, and ensure compliance with University financial policies and procedures, monitor gift and endowment accounts including the awarding of scholarships, perform timely reconciliations of travels reports, and communicate clearly and timely with both internal and external stakeholders on all financial matters. Must be able to work independently on daily tasks while successfully work with assigned teams, have effective oral and written communication skills, and be detail oriented. This individual must be proactive in identifying problems and solutions and possess a strong work ethic and initiative. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of University-specific financial and human resource systems is not required; however, general and transferable knowledge relative to other financial mainframe and human capital management systems is expected. Proficiency in the use of database applications for analysis and reporting is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and demonstrated commitment to customer service.
