Description

The Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a Marketing Project Manager. This position is responsible for actively planning and monitoring marketing and communications projects to ensure resources are assigned appropriately, internal teams are held accountable, work is delivered on time, and projects are executed efficiently across teams. Also includes actively overseeing the project intake process, as well as monitoring in flight projects to identify to foresee/identify potential problems and risks, and actively implementing solutions to address them in advance. On projects with large resource requirements or complex cross-functional efforts, position will also serve as project manager. This position is responsible for administration and management of project management system (Workfront), which includes management of user profiles, reports and dashboards, custom fields and forms, project templates, and overall project and assignment workflow, as well as establishing, managing, and documenting project management processes to ensure optimal project management. Also responsible for providing all users with specialized support and training employees and customers on project management software and operations, which includes ensuring all users are following best practices and effectively utilizing the system. Also includes review of project management software releases and communication and training to users, as well as general system administration to ensure system integrity and accuracy. Responsible for asset and documentation management implementation on all projects, which includes ensuring project or campaign assets are managed according to defined processes. Also ensures tasks or projects requiring documentation have final solutions and conclusions summarized and documented in external documentation tool. Responsibilities may also include developing and/or coordinating key marketing and communications reporting for various audiences in the organization, including work outputs, releases, etc. This position will also represent the College of Ag Sciences on university-level project management software committees focused on governance and best practices. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires project management experience, preferably within an integrated marketing environment, with demonstrated ability to work with and support cross-functional teams. This includes experience managing and monitoring resources, timelines, and delivery of projects. Must also demonstrate the ability to evaluate needs and implement project management best practices and operating procedures. Position also requires experience implementing and managing project management software, preferably Workfront. This includes user management, project templates workflow rules/strategy, and reporting. Excellent organizational, communication and prioritization skills are required. This position requires a high level of self-direction and personal accountability and ability to work in a deadline focused, dynamic environment, and consistently produce deliverables within agreed upon timelines. In addition, the candidate must be highly organized with excellent time management skills, and possess the ability to shift priorities and multi-task in order to meet aggressive deadlines.
